About This Wine

Wyethia Flame

Rosé of Dolcetto

Our Wyethia Flame Rosé of Dolcetto is a delightful example of its variety and region. Though its name means “little sweet one,” Dolcetto wines typically lean dry, focused more on rich textures than sweetness. Our rosé is no exception, offering expressive notes of ripe red fruit, melon and lively citrus with refreshing acidity; it makes the perfect companion to creamy cheeses and salty snacks. Dolcetto is most commonly associated with Italy but has made a home in the lush vineyards of Lodi, whose green valleys were once covered in bountiful native flora, including thick grasses and colorful wildflowers. Today, Lodi is one of California’s most thriving winegrowing regions, boasting over 100,000 acres of vineyard and diverse microclimates suited to a wide variety of well-known and abstract wine grapes. Our rosé offers an exciting and delicious taste of the great diversity of this region. Scroll through the image carousel above to learn more about this wine.

Wine Region

Lodi

The jewel of the Central Valley, Lodi lies just east of the California Delta in an area of varied terroir. Winemakers here can extract different grape variety expressions from each plot of land. Zinfandel is common here, making deeply fruity and tantalizingly smoky wines, often from old vines. But the deep loamy soils and balmy Mediterranean climate, with its warm days and cool nights, help keep Lodi's grape varieties and winemaking styles impressively diverse. Alongside the ubiquitous Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Merlot and Viognier also thrive. Lodi is a melting pot of different grape varieties and winemaking techniques, all of which make it a rewarding region to explore.
