About This Wine

Wyethia Flame

Cabernet Sauvignon

The unique terroir of Lodi, California, shapes the flavors and textures of our 2018 Cabernet. With a friendly and rich palate of ripe black fruit and balanced oak, this wine is a marvelous example of this region's Mediterranean climate. Summers here are warm and dry. Spring storms and early fall frosts are uncommon, which means the growing season is long. These are perfect conditions for late-ripening Cabernet Sauvignon. Cabernet vines are typically some of the last to wake up from winter dormancy, and their grapes ripen long into autumn. Each taste of our Wyethia Flame is a delicious glimpse into the vineyards of this region. This New World styling of Cabernet pairs well with a vast array of flavorful dishes. Intensify its fruitiness even more by serving it alongside salty pesto or zesty tomato sauce. Or take a sip in between bites of dark chocolate for a decadent and pleasantly textural experience. Wine Region

Lodi

The jewel of the Central Valley, Lodi lies just east of the California Delta in an area of varied terroir. Winemakers here can extract different grape variety expressions from each plot of land. Zinfandel is common here, making deeply fruity and tantalizingly smoky wines, often from old vines. But the deep loamy soils and balmy Mediterranean climate, with its warm days and cool nights, help keep Lodi's grape varieties and winemaking styles impressively diverse. Alongside the ubiquitous Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Merlot and Viognier also thrive. Lodi is a melting pot of different grape varieties and winemaking techniques, all of which make it a rewarding region to explore.
