About This Wine

Tulares Valley

Zinfandel

Tulares Valley continues to showcase the beauty of California wine with a new release that is dripping with history. Our 2021 Zinfandel offers decadent dark berry flavors and oak-driven spice. Zinfandel holds a special place in the heart of Lodi's vineyards. Its origins trace back to the 1800s when the Gold Rush brought the first vines to California. Once it arrived, this Mediterranean grape flourished in the beaming sunshine, sandy soils, and delta breezes. It wove its roots so deep into the region's identity that it even survived Prohibition. Today, "Lodi Zin" is well-known in the wine world, enjoyed by critics and casual consumers alike. Our 2021 vintage upholds this glowing reputation with each sip. Pop the cork, fill a glass and toast to a delicious history. Scroll through the image carousel above to learn more about this wine.

Wine Region

Lodi

The jewel of the Central Valley, Lodi lies just east of the California Delta in an area of varied terroir. Winemakers here can extract different grape variety expressions from each plot of land. Zinfandel is common here, making deeply fruity and tantalizingly smoky wines, often from old vines. But the deep loamy soils and balmy Mediterranean climate, with its warm days and cool nights, help keep Lodi's grape varieties and winemaking styles impressively diverse. Alongside the ubiquitous Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Merlot and Viognier also thrive. Lodi is a melting pot of different grape varieties and winemaking techniques, all of which make it a rewarding region to explore.
