About This Wine

Troublemaker

Red Blend

Comprised of varietals that flourish in Paso Robles' distinct growing region, Troublemaker consists of Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre, Zinfandel, and Petite Sirah. Syrah is the backbone of the wine, setting the stage for a fruit-forward style and a full body. Sweet and bright red fruit flavors of Grenache blend with the rustic and lively flavors of the Mourvèdre. The Zinfandel adds its signature zing to round out the blend, and Petite Sirah contributes to the deep ruby color. Wines were aged in oak for a minimum of 15 months and a maximum of 27 months, depending on the vintage. All barrel aging was done in French and American oak barrels.

Troublemaker NV Red Blend Central Coast, California

Wine Region

Central Coast

California's Central Coast might be a bit quieter than Napa or Sonoma to the north, but this lesser-known region produces many world-class wines. Enjoying incredible terroir along its vast 280-mile stretch—from San Francisco Bay to Santa Barbara—Central Coast wines are increasingly in demand. Its position between the Pacific Coast Ranges and the Southern Coast Ranges is key to its quality, with many cool-climate AVAs offering elegant Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Syrah and Merlot. In the hotter parts of the Central Coast, away from the coastal fogs and cold mountain slopes, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre are exceptional.

Tasting Notes

  • A figure representing the Vanilla tasting note. Vanilla
  • A figure representing the Black Pepper tasting note. Black Pepper
  • A figure representing the Cherry tasting note. Cherry

This intensely rich wine is deep purple in color and radiates aromas of black fruit, cherry, and spicy black pepper. On the palate, loads of vanilla, caramel, and blackcurrant gracefully evolve into soft, supple tannins and a signature zing that balances the wine.
