About This Wine

Trimble Hawke

Zinfandel

This exceptional wine is part of our Fine Wine Collection.

Winemaking Our quality-driven approach focuses on small-lot fermentations to ensure a clear expression of the region's terroir. We harvest these Zinfandel grapes by hand at peak maturity, utilizing a measured use of French and American oak barrels to add complex notes of cocoa and spice. This handcrafted process ensures the wine remains full-bodied and structured while maintaining a mouthwatering freshness. The final result is a wine composed of balanced tannins and fruit.

Vintage The 2024 growing season in Dry Creek Valley was defined by warm daytime temperatures and the signature cooling influence of the Pacific. These conditions allowed for a steady overripening of the fruit, resulting in a ripe & jammy profile with concentrated flavors of boysenberry and black pepper. The gravelly loam soils of the valley floor provided the necessary drainage to produce grapes with deep color intensity and fine-grained tannic structure.

Pairing Logic Because this Zinfandel is so fruit-forward and robust, we recommend pairings that can stand up to its intensity. The wine’s natural spiciness and black cherry notes complement charred or smoked proteins, while the acidity cuts through the richness of savory vegetarian dishes. High-fat cheeses or dishes with a touch of sweetness in the sauce will also harmonize with the wine’s plush mouthfeel and long, juicy finish. Wine Region

Dry Creek Valley

Dry Creek Valley

Dry Creek Valley AVA is located around 70 miles north of San Francisco, in the heart of Sonoma County. This small region may only be two miles wide, but it's a treasure trove of diversity thanks to its varied landscape and complex geological history. Flanked by rivers and lakes, the region's vineyards stretch from sun-soaked hillsides to cool valley floors. Its deep, gravelly soils are the perfect home for California's favorite red grape varieties, particularly Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, while Sauvignon Blanc thrives in cooler sites.
