About This Wine

Trefethen Family Vineyards

Dry Riesling

Vibrant and refreshing, this is the most transparent wine Trefethen makes, a pure expression of their estate vineyards. They produced their first Riesling in 1974, made in a distinctively dry and crisp style. It has been a Trefethen family favorite ever since. Bright and aromatic, it is marvelously food-friendly and cellar-worthy. The wine isn’t a sweet Riesling. It has floral aromas of orange blossom and jasmine that are complemented by fresh notes of green apple and grapefruit. This bright yet luscious wine evolves with flavors of nectarine, white peach, and Honeycrisp apple on the palate. The minerality and beautiful acidity provide an invigorating finish.

NOTE: This is NOT a Firstleaf Exclusive wine.

Trefethen Family Vineyards 2019 Dry Riesling Oak Knoll District, California

Wine Region

Oak Knoll District

Home to legendary Zinfandels and delicate Chardonnays, Oak Knoll is one of Napa Valley's most prestigious sub-regions. Vines are planted on the valley floor, where breezes from San Pablo Bay keep grapes refreshingly acidic. This is one of the coolest parts of Napa, so grapes that struggle elsewhere in the valley—like Riesling and Pinot Noir—can thrive. It is also home to many Bordeaux-style blends made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Malbec.
