About This Wine

Trailstone

Cabernet Sauvignon

A sub-appellation of Columbia Valley in central Washington state, the Horse Heaven Hills appellation is still relatively unknown in the wine world. However, the region produces some of the most beautiful bottles coming out of the Pacific Northwest. Vines planted in the area experience a very unique climate—dry and hot, desert-like temperatures are mitigated by strong winds that are pushed from the Cascade Mountains to the west. These intense elements from Mother Nature force grapes to work incredibly hard for nutrients, and the result is incredibly concentrated flavors and bold aromatics. Our 2019 Trailstone Cabernet Sauvignon is a gorgeous take on the crowd-favorite and popular varietal. Intensely aromatic thanks to oak aging, winemaking chose to make this in a fruit-forward style that will please every wine drinker’s tastebuds. Each sip is lengthened and stays on the palate well after you wash it down. Scroll through the image carousel above to learn more about this wine.

Wine Region

Horse Heaven Hills

Home to multiple 100 point wines, Horse Heaven Hills is nestled in the southeastern corner of Washington and is a hidden jewel amidst the vast landscape of the Pacific Northwest. Primarily known for reds, wines from the region are exciting and vibrant. Vineyards are planted along the banks of the Columbia River and on hillsides ranging from 300 feet to 1800 feet elevation. Despite the proximity to the river, the land is extremely dry. Heavy winds force grapes to work harder for nutrients and as a result, they develop highly concentrated fruit flavors.
