About This Wine

Tommasi

Le Rosse Pinot Grigio

This Valpolicella Pinot Grigio can be described as sitting between the richer, more concentrated Pinot Grigio from Friuli to the north, and racier styles from the Veneto at large. The nose is spicy with hints of tropical fruit, the flavors clean and crisp, and the body round and soft with a crisp finish. Le Rosse is one of the four main sub-plots of the Prunea Estate and is planted entirely to Pinot Grigio grapes. The vineyard rows are planted extremely close together and receive intense pruning, resulting in low yields and excellent richness. All grapes are harvested at night, to retain maximum freshness and acidity. It's delicious, rich, and fresh.

Tommasi 2019 Le Rosse Pinot Grigio Tre Venezie, Italy

Wine Region

Trevenezie

The three wine regions covering Italy's far northeast—Trentino, Friuli-Venezia Giulia and Verona—are known collectively as Tre Venezie, or "the three Venices." Bathed in sunshine yet cooled by the Alps and the Adriatic Sea, this large area produces world-class whites, reds and sparkling wines. Tre Venezie wines are famed for their fresh and food-friendly character. Crisply aromatic Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay are the most exported wines from the region, but you will also find unique modern takes on obscure local red grapes and classic French varieties like Pinot Noir and Merlot.
