About This Wine

Tintoretto

Vino Rosso

Wine has been made on the Italian peninsula for millennia. You could almost say that winemaking is in the blood or collective consciousness of the people. The third release from Tintoretto is a classic example of Italian winemaking with a focus on the south. Made with 100% Nero d'Avola grapes from Sicily, this wine is rich and full of life with powerful notes of dark fruits— juicy blackberry and plum— subtly playing off of notes of black pepper and just a touch of earthy umami. It brightens up most dishes, so don’t be afraid to try it with heavier fish dishes, roasted eggplant, spicy pasta, or even capers and olives. Judges love it too! It took home 93 Points and a Gold Medal at the 2019 International Eastern Wine Competition!

Wine Region

Italy

While France takes the crown for the most famous wines styles and grape varieties, Italy is where wine was first perfected. The ancient Greeks called it Oenotria—"land of the vines"—and the Roman Empire advanced grape growing and winemaking to a level of quality we still enjoy today. But behind Italy's best-known wines, such as Chianti, Barolo and prosecco, there's an almost endless diversity of delights awaiting the intrepid explorer. The key to understanding Italian wine is regionality and (of course) food. From the aromatic and sparkling whites of the north to Sicily's rich and spicy reds, Italy offers wine lovers a lifetime of gastronomic treats.
