About This Wine

Terrace View

Chardonnay

Chardonnay is usually the first white wine a new wine enthusiast will try, and all too often the wine is a buttery, oak-bomb that is insultingly one note. But it doesn’t have to be like that, some of the best white wines on Earth are primarily Chardonnay. As a fairly neutral grape, the hand of the winemaker is on display with nowhere to hide. If you have been turned off to the grape by a less-than-exceptional Chardonnay, now is the time to taste something different. This New Zealand wine is rich with ripe stone fruit and lively citrus with just a tiny bit of toasted oak. This full-bodied wine is vibrant enough that is should be enjoyed in the next few months.

REGION
New Zealand is a really exciting region. The name Terrace View comes from the six unique terraces of the property, each located at a different elevation and containing unique soils and microclimates. The fruit from each terrace thus varies in both flavor and varietal, creating an unparalleled complexity and subtlety in all of their wines. The size of the vineyard means that Terrace View never relies on outside growers—all of their wines are 100% estate grown and produced. They hand-select only the best grapes from over 1,000 tons of fruit, making them the most sophisticated, flavorful wines possible.

TASTING NOTES
This 100% estate-grown unoaked chardonnay is full of fruit and refreshingly crisp on the palate. This wine has zesty notes of citrus and green apple. It is a fruit forward, everyday drinking wine that can be enjoyed by the pool or paired with a seafood dinner.

Wine Region

New Zealand

New Zealand is one of the most isolated countries on Earth, and the small country surprised everyone when its crisp, focused wines began impressing critics in the 1990s. New Zealand first made its impact on the wine world with Sauvignon Blanc from the picturesque Marlborough region. Zingy, floral and herbaceous, these mouthwatering Sauvignon Blancs thrilled wine lovers. Pinot Noir is another success story here, becoming blissfully elegant with beautiful cherry aromas in regions like Central Otago and Wairarapa. While Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir star in New Zealand, stunning whites like Riesling, Pinot Gris and Chardonnay, and complex reds such as Syrah and Merlot, also find a welcome home in this beautiful and rugged land.
