About This Wine

Strata Blue

Sauvignon Blanc

The vineyards of coastal California offer a plush life for Sauvignon Blanc. In the right conditions, this classic grape variety has the potential to create powerfully aromatic wines that overflow with layers of succulent fruit flavor. This new vintage of Strata Blue has once again captured all that and more. Each sip hits your palate with a flurry of ripe fruit and mouthwatering acidity. During the day, these grapes sunbathe on the mountainous coasts of the Pacific Ocean. This allows each cluster to develop flavors of lusciously ripe fruit. Throughout the day, ocean breezes travel inland from the sea and mediate the warm temperatures. This cooling influence preserves the refreshing acidity and delicate floral aromas that are specific to this aromatic grape. It also ensures that these grapes don’t reach excessively high sugar levels, which keeps this wine on the lighter side and makes it the perfect partner for daytime sipping. Wine Region

California

California is one of the most diverse winegrowing regions in the world. Spanning 850 miles along North America's west coast—and inland across mountains and valleys—California's American Viticultural Areas (AVAs) cover a dizzying array of terroir. The cold, deep waters of the Pacific Ocean play a major role in cooling California's vineyards, sending fog and chilly air up to 100 miles inland. This tempers the daytime heat and allows grapes to ripen slowly but fully. Cooler-climate grape varieties thrive closest to the sea, while further inland, bigger, bolder wines prevail.
