About This Wine

Still & Co.

Merlot

Constructing a well-balanced wine is really difficult. Winemakers have to account for all kinds of minuscule differences in weather, soils, and grape variety amongst myriad other variables when making a wine. Great wine has to be well engineered and guided. You wouldn’t ride in a poorly engineered car, and you shouldn’t drink a poorly engineered wine. This Merlot is like a high-performance sports car. It’s elegant, rich, and classically sophisticated. With layered notes of cedar, cherry, and mocha. It’s an engineering marvel.

Wine Region

Napa Valley

Napa gained international acclaim following the Judgement of Paris in 1976, when its wines defeated its French counterparts in a blind tasting. Napa's signature wines are Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and various Bordeaux blends, but many other varieties, such as Pinot Noir, Zinfandel, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc also thrive here. With 16 sub-AVAs and a Mediterranean climate with rich geology, Napa is a winemaker's dream. The winegrowing region runs between the Mayacamas Mountains and Vaca Mountains for 30 miles, from Calistoga to Los Carneros. Napa has a wide array of soil types for such a small region, from volcanic foothills to alluvial valley floors, which help to produce varied and complex wines.

  • A figure representing the Black Cherry tasting note. Black Cherry
  • A figure representing the Plum tasting note. Plum

Sweet fruit and juicy tannins make this an insanely drinkable Merlot. Ripe dark fruits, cedar, and sweet oak influence, with generous amounts of cherry, fleshy plum, and blackberry. The finish is savory and rich with notes of mocha and chocolate.
