About This Wine

St. Audette Nuit

Pinot Noir

The previous vintage of our St. Audette Nuit Pinot Noir received many prestigious awards from numerous wine competitions—these honors included three 90+ point scores and four Gold Medals. This new vintage features bright red fruit flavors with enticing complexity from the oak influence. Drawn by the potential of the Pays d’Oc, our French winemaking partners have captured this region’s beauty and created a modern take on Old World tradition. Overall, this region offers a warm Mediterranean climate where high temperatures, little rainfall and mild winters allow for a long growing season. With some vines as old as 40 years, the area also contains an array of microclimates ranging from cooler inland sites found among the mountain foothills to hotter regions within the coastal plain. Calm afternoon winds create perfect conditions to cultivate and create wines that bring this region to life. Scroll through the image carousel above to learn more about this wine.

Wine Region

Pays d'Oc

If you've vacationed in the south of France, you've probably visited the Pays d'Oc region. Embracing the Mediterranean from Spain to Provence, this region is famed as much for its Grenache, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay as its endless sunshine. Pays d'Oc covers non-AOC wines made across this large, sun-kissed region, known as France's "New World." Far from the regulations of the AOC system, pioneering winemakers headed here to experiment, crafting many now-famous wines that often state their grape variety on the label—not something that was common in France before then. IGP (Indication Géographique Protégée) within France’s wine classification system focuses on controlling regional and geographical origin. The category is less restrictive than the AOC classification and gives winemakers more freedom with style and taste profile when creating wines.
