One Point Five Cabernet Sauvignon

The One Point Five Cabernet Sauvignon is a bold, expansive Stags Leap District wine that celebrates the winery's roots in this unique area of Napa Valley. The grapes for the wine come primarily from two of the best sites in the valley, one hillside vineyard on the estate and the "Borderline" vineyard just to the south. A lengthy, warm summer allowed the fruit to hang in near-ideal conditions for a long, long time producing clusters of fruit with vivid color, enticing flavors, and unrivaled aromas. The fruit was then crushed and put into brand new French Oak for 20 months.

Being a 100% Cabernet Sauvignon wine, the dark purple and red fruits are a given, but the complexity that supports them is indicative of a truly fine wine. Dark cherry, plum, and cassis play off of cigar box spice, licorice, and earth. There's even a beautiful hint of Virginia tobacco. This is a must-have wine for any true collector.

Wine Region

Stags Leap District

With a focus on plush Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot wines, Stags Leap is one of Napa Valley's most celebrated districts. Often referred to as a "valley within a valley," the Stags Leap terroir provides the perfect conditions for red grape growing. Reflective heat from the Stags Leap Palisades rock formations combines with cooling breezes off San Pablo Bay to develop fruit-forward wine with abundant elegance. Cabernet Sauvignon from this tiny AVA is especially well loved. It is set apart from other Napa Cabs thanks to its lush sour cherry and blackberry flavors, complemented beautifully by soft, ripe tannins.

  • A figure representing the Plum tasting note. Plum

The winemakers were aiming for classic and elegant flavors in this wine. There is super-ripe dark cherry, cloves, menthol, licorice, and earthy notes that give this 2017 a distinctly dark and exotic feel. Plush and generous on the palate with sweet, silky tannins.
