Our newly released Merlot comes from Horse Heaven Hills, where Merlot dominates vineyard plantings next to Cabernet Sauvignon. Aromas of baking spices and jammy red fruit make this Merlot a delicious example of Washington’s New World-style reds. While Horse Heaven Hills is among Washington’s warmer regions, these Merlot grapes come from cooler sites located on top of a bluff overlooking the Columbia River. To reach this level of plump fruit flavor, vineyard crews pay close attention to pruning and vine placement to maximize the fruit’s exposure to sunlight. The result is a ripe, balanced red that is out of this world. Enjoy this Merlot alongside tangy barbecue or charcuterie shared with good friends under the night sky.
