If Mendoza is the heart of Argentinian winemaking, Malbec is the soul. Our new 2021 vintage of PrimaZona Malbec is every bit as decadent as the last. Its smooth, weighty body offers sultry dark fruit flavors and spice. Originating in France, Malbec is a fan-favorite across the world, but there's no home quite like Mendoza. Vineyards here experience an incredibly unique climate planted anywhere from 2,500 to 4,000 feet above sea level. Cool breezes from the Andes Mountains relieve hot, dry daytime temperatures. This allows slow ripening and the development of concentrated varietal flavors. Our PrimaZona Malbec is a versatile wine that can pair with various flavorful foods. Mendoza is the heart of Argentinian wine production. It was here where a previously little-known French grape variety called Malbec became a global superstar. With its extreme altitudes and Andean climate, Mendoza nurtures its vineyards in dramatic sun-drenched plateaus set against snow-capped peaks. At these elevations, the intense UV light ripens grapes in a unique way, working with the cold mountain air to create gloriously supple and expressive wines with bold yet brightly aromatic fruit. Mendoza's high-quality varietals from Bonarda, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes are also notable, as are its fine Torrontés, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir from sub-regions such as Maipú, Luján de Cuyo and the Uco Valley.
