Our winemakers say that this Primanu Straya Red Blend offers a “great example of one of the best-known blends in Australia.” This Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon-driven wine features supple textures, dark fruit flavors, and just the right amount of spice. Nature’s elements are at extremes in the vineyards of South Australia, whose unique climate is best described as very hot and exceptionally dry. These circumstances are perfect for growing the region’s thick-skinned red grape varieties, which rely on high temperatures and long summers to ripen fully. In extreme conditions, vines focus their resources on only a small number of grape clusters, which increases overall complexity and flavor concentration.
