This wine delivers its own special message from the rugged Piekenierskloof region of South Africa. While the landscape can be a flurry of activity, our winemakers use their unwavering dedication to capture the best of this unique vintage. Piekenierskloof

Piekenierskloof is a relatively small area at the southern end of the Olifants River region, 100 miles north of Cape Town. This winegrowing region is earning recognition for its high-elevation wines. In fact, Piekenierskloof now boasts some of South Africa's highest vineyards as winemakers continue to explore the Citrusdal Valley's mountainside terroirs. Lying at the base of the Cederberg Mountains, this fertile valley was known historically for its citrus production. But oranges and lemons are slowly giving way to hillside vineyards planted with Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinotage, Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz grapes.

This ripe & jammy Cinsault is a friendly and uncomplicated red wine. It features soft, plush flavors of black cherry and blackberry that meld into a rich finish of dark chocolate. The tannins are fine-grained and velvety.
