White Wine
To be awarded the appellation of Côtes de Gascogne, a wine must not only be from the coastal region in Southwest France, but it must also meet exacting standards of quality production. So, it’s no surprise that the wines that do win the name represent some of the finest white wines in the world today.
The Pontil 2015 White Wine succeeds in living up to those high standards of quality, with a white wine that captures the essence of the region’s best qualities. The wine carries the particular qualities of the Gers sub region, where chalky soil blend with the perfect balance of sun, rain, and cool winds to produce a round and aromatic white with a pleasant balance of high acidity and low alcohol content.
On the nose are strong floral and citrus notes, blended sweetly with hints of honey and vanilla. In the mouth, it leads with a striking gush of tart and citrus fruits, which is balanced by a long fruity finish. In fact, the perfect balance and refreshing citrusy flavors of this wine are what earned 91 points and the Gold Medal at the 2017 Winemaker Challenge International Wine Competition.
