About This Wine

Penrose Hill

Rosé of Pinot Noir

One of the world's most reputable wine regions, the historic Napa Valley rises and falls with rolling hills as winding roads weave through acres of legendary vineyards and grand estates. The region's hot, dry days allow fruit to ripen fully under sunny skies, while cooler evenings provide a natural pause, protecting varietal acidity and helping to concentrate flavors. Maritime influences offer a welcome home for delicate grapes like Pinot Noir. Our Penrose Hill 2019 Rosé of Pinot Noir exemplifies this iconic region with elegant floral aromas and tart red fruit flavors, and it deserves a meal to match. Serve it well chilled alongside glazed duck breast topped with warm cranberry sauce for an exquisite pairing you won't soon forget. Wine Region

Napa Valley

Napa gained international acclaim following the Judgement of Paris in 1976, when its wines defeated its French counterparts in a blind tasting. Napa's signature wines are Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and various Bordeaux blends, but many other varieties, such as Pinot Noir, Zinfandel, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc also thrive here. With 16 sub-AVAs and a Mediterranean climate with rich geology, Napa is a winemaker's dream. The winegrowing region runs between the Mayacamas Mountains and Vaca Mountains for 30 miles, from Calistoga to Los Carneros. Napa has a wide array of soil types for such a small region, from volcanic foothills to alluvial valley floors, which help to produce varied and complex wines.
