There is an ancient tradition, almost as ancient as winemaking, where the winner of a contest is offered a palm branch. Even today, at the Cannes Film Festival the highest prize is called the Palme d’Or (Golden Palm). The Palmary Sauvignon Blanc is a hit waiting to happen. Refreshing tropical flavors float above an earthy base of fig and lemongrass, this complex wine is a delight to try again and again. We recommend trying it with lightly fried seafood and vegetables. We think that it really is a palmary wine. Judges love it too! It took home Silver from the 2019 Hilton Head Island Wine and Food International Wine Competition and at the 2019 San Diego International Wine & Spirits Challenge.

California

California is one of the most diverse winegrowing regions in the world. Spanning 850 miles along North America's west coast—and inland across mountains and valleys—California's American Viticultural Areas (AVAs) cover a dizzying array of terroir. The cold, deep waters of the Pacific Ocean play a major role in cooling California's vineyards, sending fog and chilly air up to 100 miles inland. This tempers the daytime heat and allows grapes to ripen slowly but fully. Cooler-climate grape varieties thrive closest to the sea, while further inland, bigger, bolder wines prevail.
