About This Wine

Sueñoque

Carmenere

This exceptional wine is part of our Fine Wine Collection.

Winemaking We strive to produce wines that express the individuality of the land and show nature’s touch. After selecting the best grapes, fermentation lasts eight days, allowing time for complexity, color and texture from the skins to fully integrate into the wine. Once balance is achieved, we age the wine for six months in French oak barrels to build a velvety, medium-heavy mid-palate. Bottling is the final step when the cork becomes the guardian of a wine laboriously crafted to be as close to perfect as possible.

Vintage Our Carmenere comes from the sun-drenched vineyards of the Valle Central. These vines are rooted in diverse soils and benefit from an exceptional diurnal temperature range where hot, luminous days are tempered by crisp evening breezes. With stable spring weather behind us, bud break was right on schedule for the 2024 vintage. The vines found ideal conditions to build profound flavor intensity while preserving a vital line of natural acidity. A long, warm summer allowed the thick-skinned grapes to ripen slowly, yielding deep color, structured tannins and an iconic spicy character.

Pairing Logic This Carmenere is bold, dark and complex. Its concentrated black fruit characteristics, polished tannins and distinct herbal twist will cut right through dishes with substantial fat profiles and rich, savory reductions. Slow-cooked beef brisket and grilled rosemary lamb chops make exceptional pairings as the charred meats embrace the wine's warm black pepper complexity. For a vegetarian alternative, roasted portobello mushrooms with a sweet balsamic glaze will seamlessly match the wine's balsamic edge while playing directly into its savory, structural depth.

Valle Central

Valle Central

The expansive, warm flatlands of Chile's Valle Central are home to most of the country's vineyards. This long stretch of land from Santiago to Itata Valley is divided into four sub-regions, each with its own climate and reputation. There is Maipo Valley with its minty Cabernet Sauvignon, Rapel Valley with its spicy Carménère and the Curicó and Maule Valleys, famous for concentrated Carignan made from old vines. Throughout the valley—which is prized for its rich, volcanic soils—the hot days and cool nights result in ripe, well-balanced grapes. Some of the most common Valle Central wines are fruit-forward reds made from plummy Merlot and pear-flavored whites crafted from Chardonnay.
