About This Wine

Open Secret

Malvasia Bianca

It’s an open secret that we love trying new grapes. Part of the beauty of being in a wine club is that we are able to explore all over the world looking for new and interesting finds. We got lucky and found the Open Secret in our backyard. With grapes that come from the warm region of Paso Robles, this sweet Mediterranean varietal gives off lovely tropical fruit and secondary notes of herbs and spice. With no time spent in oak, it’s a very transparent wine that is as good on its own as it is with ripe cheeses, fresh vegetables, or soups. Judges love it too! It took home a Silver medal the 2018 Harvest Challenge.

Wine Region

Paso Robles

California's fastest-growing wine region is quickly gaining an international reputation for its innovative and boundary-breaking wines. Located halfway between LA and San Francisco, the Paso Robles AVA in San Luis Obispo County has two main zones. The eastern side has a hot and sunny climate with deep, rich soils producing plush, fruity wines with sweet ripe flavors. To the west, the cooling influence of the Pacific brings a zingy backbone to rich Zinfandel and Rhône favorites like Syrah and Viognier. Italian varietals like Sangiovese and Nebbiolo are also favorites of Paso Robles grape growers and wine drinkers.

Tasting Notes

  • A figure representing the Tropical Fruit tasting note. Tropical Fruit
  • A figure representing the Honey tasting note. Honey
  • A figure representing the Lemon tasting note. Lemon

A naturally sweet grape that features explosive tropical notes imbued by the California sun in Paso Robles. We think that this transparent and easy wine is great on its own, but also works incredibly well with cheese, vegetables, and soups.
