About This Wine

My Family Cellars

Red Blend

Taste the best our family has to offer in this beautifully sourced Red Blend from vineyards in California. Half of the grapes in this blend come from Lake County, a beautiful growing region just north of Napa (and it's one of our favorite places to seek out vineyards that are still under the radar). This Red is complex and has a beautiful inky color. It has been called “opulent,” with red and dark fruits that are firm, full-bodied, and will stand up to any rich or intense foods. The spicy characteristics in the wine will pair especially well with red meats.

Wine Region

California

California is one of the most diverse winegrowing regions in the world. Spanning 850 miles along North America's west coast—and inland across mountains and valleys—California's American Viticultural Areas (AVAs) cover a dizzying array of terroir. The cold, deep waters of the Pacific Ocean play a major role in cooling California's vineyards, sending fog and chilly air up to 100 miles inland. This tempers the daytime heat and allows grapes to ripen slowly but fully. Cooler-climate grape varieties thrive closest to the sea, while further inland, bigger, bolder wines prevail.

Tasting Notes

  • A figure representing the Raspberry tasting note. Raspberry

This Red Blend is a beautiful mix of dark fruits. We love it for the pops of black cherry and raspberry that play off of the firm tannins. With a wine this structured, we find that pairing with flavorful meats to be the best option.
