About This Wine

Musa Noctuaria

Tempranillo – Garnacha

Spain’s hot and dry climate is ideal for grape growing. In the country, viticultural appellations experience a classic Mediterranean climate with hot, dry days and more moderate nights thanks to maritime influences from both the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. The 2019 growing season in Spain was near-perfect. It was very dry with little rainfall, which led to highly concentrated flavors in the fruit. Winemakers saw an incredible balance in flavors, aromas, natural acidity, and tannins. This wine is a blend of 50% Garnacha and 50% Tempranillo and is a beautiful reflection of what the country’s winegrowing experts can do. Grapes used for the Garnacha portion of this blend came from older vineyards that were “En Vaso” – bush vines with roots incredibly deep in the soils. Because of the age of the vines, there were lower yields, but grapes still produced bold dark fruit flavors. The Tempranillo fruit was sourced from vineyards neighboring the sea, giving the wine stunning deep floral aromas. The combination is a blend with balanced tannins, savory complexity, and a lingering taste that will make the bottle go quickly once opened! Wine Region

Spain

While its reputation as a serious wine destination was eclipsed by France and Italy for many years, ignoring Spain today means missing out on some of the world's most exciting wines. Enjoying hundreds of miles of sun-kissed coastline and rocky interiors at higher elevations, Spain provides an ideal location for vineyards. Whether it is sparkling cavas from Catalonia, crisp Verdejos from Rueda, sublime Tempranillos from Ribera del Duero or inky Monastrells from Valencia, Spain has many wine styles to explore, all expressing the country's wildly unique terroir.

  • A figure representing the Rose Petal tasting note. Rose Petal
  • A figure representing the Blackberry tasting note. Blackberry

Bold rose petal aromas complement tart blackberry, bright pomegranate, and red cherry flavors. A pepperiness on the back end of each sip melds with dusty tannins, and a caramel molasses note makes the taste linger on the palate.
