About This Wine

Miguel Aime Pouget

Malbec

Our 2021 vintage of Miguel Aime Pouget is everything an Argentinian Malbec lover looks for. Each sip showcases ripe and jammy dark fruit flavors with underlying earthiness. Mendoza and Malbec's harmonious relationship is why this grape is more often associated with Argentina than its French homeland. The region's combination of altitude, sunlight and diverse soil types bring out Malbec's rich fruit flavors, balanced acidity and smooth tannins. Our local winemaking partners have spent the last 100 years honing their craft. Today, they tend to over 2000 acres of vineyard with vines that range between 30 and 80 years old. Like the people who look after them, these vines have stood the test of time, producing wines that honor the history of the land and the dedication of generations. Wine Region

Mendoza

Mendoza is the heart of Argentinian wine production. It was here where a previously little-known French grape variety called Malbec became a global superstar. With its extreme altitudes and Andean climate, Mendoza nurtures its vineyards in dramatic sun-drenched plateaus set against snow-capped peaks. At these elevations, the intense UV light ripens grapes in a unique way, working with the cold mountain air to create gloriously supple and expressive wines with bold yet brightly aromatic fruit. Mendoza's high-quality varietals from Bonarda, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes are also notable, as are its fine Torrontés, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir from sub-regions such as Maipú, Luján de Cuyo and the Uco Valley.

An aromatic bouquet on the nose features dark fruit with a wild, bushy, and bramble-like character. Jammy notes of blackberry, blackcurrant, and plum mingle on the palate as subtle acidity and tannins strike a smooth balance. Fruit flavors soften, and earthiness returns.
