About This Wine

Miguel Aime Pouget

Limited Release Malbec

Previous awards for Miguel Aime Pouget include Best of Class, multiple 90+ point scores, multiple gold medals and more. This vintage just took home a silver medal at the 2018 Critics Challenge International Wine and Spirits Competition! The 2016 Miguel Aime Pouget Malbec was an unabashed success winning multiple awards, 95 points, and a best-in-class title at the New World International Wine Competition. This member and judge favorite is returning to the club in fine form. The 2017 vintage follows in its predecessor’s footsteps boasting a nose full of violets and red fruits that entice you while lighter flavors of coffee, vanilla, and spice create a medley that sings across your palate. All of the grapes come from a family farm in Maipú, Mendoza, Argentina and are of fantastic quality, making a wine that’s full of flavor and depth. Try pairing it with rich meats to complement the secondary notes in the wine.

Wine Region

Mendoza

Mendoza is the heart of Argentinian wine production. It was here where a previously little-known French grape variety called Malbec became a global superstar. With its extreme altitudes and Andean climate, Mendoza nurtures its vineyards in dramatic sun-drenched plateaus set against snow-capped peaks. At these elevations, the intense UV light ripens grapes in a unique way, working with the cold mountain air to create gloriously supple and expressive wines with bold yet brightly aromatic fruit. Mendoza's high-quality varietals from Bonarda, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes are also notable, as are its fine Torrontés, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir from sub-regions such as Maipú, Luján de Cuyo and the Uco Valley.
