Chardonnay

The word Truvée, the name the McBride Sisters chose for their California wines, comes from the French word for “found.” Growing up on opposite ends of the earth the sisters didn’t even know about one another until their father passed away. Upon meeting, they discovered a shared passion for winemaking and decided to run with it. Pulling from their experience the sisters decided to make wines from both of their homes: California and New Zealand. The Truvée Chardonnay, which comes from Central California, is elegant and vivacious. The flavors span white peach, pear, citrus zest, and green apple. Andréa McBride suggests pairing with roasted chicken, seared scallops, or a lighter pasta.

Central Coast

California's Central Coast might be a bit quieter than Napa or Sonoma to the north, but this lesser-known region produces many world-class wines. Enjoying incredible terroir along its vast 280-mile stretch—from San Francisco Bay to Santa Barbara—Central Coast wines are increasingly in demand. Its position between the Pacific Coast Ranges and the Southern Coast Ranges is key to its quality, with many cool-climate AVAs offering elegant Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Syrah and Merlot. In the hotter parts of the Central Coast, away from the coastal fogs and cold mountain slopes, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre are exceptional.
