About This Wine

McBride Sisters

Black Girl Magic Riesling

Black Girl Magic is a term used often, but what is it? Black Girl Magic is a concept and movement popularized by CaShawn Thompson in 2013 to "celebrate the beauty, power, and resilience of black women" and to congratulate black women on their accomplishments. To the McBride Sisters, Black Girl Magic is more than a phrase. It's a feeling. A look. A mood. A taste. Their Black Girl Magic Riesling is an ode to their culture and story, inspired by the magic and resilience of Black women, to be enjoyed by all. This is a premium wine that respects her palate and showcases the flavors of the finest single vineyards in California.

McBride Sisters 2019 Black Girl Magic Riesling Central Coast, California

Wine Region

Central Coast

California's Central Coast might be a bit quieter than Napa or Sonoma to the north, but this lesser-known region produces many world-class wines. Enjoying incredible terroir along its vast 280-mile stretch—from San Francisco Bay to Santa Barbara—Central Coast wines are increasingly in demand. Its position between the Pacific Coast Ranges and the Southern Coast Ranges is key to its quality, with many cool-climate AVAs offering elegant Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Syrah and Merlot. In the hotter parts of the Central Coast, away from the coastal fogs and cold mountain slopes, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre are exceptional.

Tasting Notes

  • A figure representing the Honey tasting note. Honey
  • A figure representing the Apricot tasting note. Apricot
  • A figure representing the White Flowers tasting note. White Flowers

Intensely aromatic, this wine shows typical ripe Riesling characteristics, including honey, apricot, and white flowers. Tangerine, jasmine, and coriander seed appear in the nose, as the palate turns to tropical flavors evocative of guava and pineapple. Mild sweetness is balanced by a bright core of tangy citrus for a mouth-watering, sweet, and sour finish.
