About This Wine

Marie Chardon

Sauvignon Blanc

Varietal: Sauvignon Blanc
Alcohol By Volume: 14%
Region: Mendocino, California
MSRP: $16.00

Marie Chardon 2015 Sauvignon Blanc is a multiple award-winning wine made with 100% organic fruit. Hand-picked from a single estate, exemplifies Mendocino farmers' commitment to producing world-class wine using sustainable practices. Marie Chardon was then carefully fermented in stainless steel to give it a citrusy minerality and a classically crisp finish. Winning silver medals at both the 2016 Harvest Challenge and 2017 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition, this Sauvignon Blanc demonstrates the incredible quality of wines Mendocino's Potter Valley has to offer.

REGION:

Though the Potter Valley is a relative newcomer to the world of California wine, it’s superb grapes have left a lasting impression on the famed Mendocino County. Located 200 feet above the surrounding area, the valley enjoys an abundance of strong sunlight, fresh breezes, and cool weather. This climate mixed with the mineral dense soils of the surrounding Russian River, make the Potter Valley ideal for producing a uniquely crisp and delicious Sauvignon Blanc.

TASTING NOTES:

Refreshing flavors of Bosc pear, honeydew melon, and grapefruit predominate this Sauvignon Blanc with cool notes of cream to complement the fruity zest, and a crisp finish that perfectly punctuates every sip.

Wine Region

Mendocino County

One of the unsung regions of the North Coast, Mendocino County enjoys some of California's finest cool-climate terroirs. Lying north of Sonoma, it is home to 12 separate AVAs, spread through sleepy valleys and long, rugged coastlines—much of which exudes a rustic, laid-back feel. Mendocino delights fans of top-quality Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and sparkling wine, but there is also plenty of fine Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel and Syrah made in its warmer sites too. Mendocino is also famous for its high number of organic-certified vineyards, reflecting the general "off-grid" hippie nature of its winemaking pioneers.
