About This Wine

Lost Dog Lane

Pinot Noir

Lost Dog Lane is a hit with critics and Firstleaf members. The brand has taken home best-in-class, double gold medals, 90+ point scores, and more!

The newest wine from Lost Dog Lane, the 2016 Pinot Noir lives up to the heritage of the label. The 2014 Lost Dog Lane Chardonnay became an immediate favorite of judges as well as our club members, was the most requested wine by Firstleaf members and won a gold medal at the 2016 New York International Wine Competition. The team at Lost Dog Lane has outdone themselves with this Pinot Noir. With powerful aromas of cherry, layered with scents of sugar and pepper this flavorful and elegant wine shows off the superb quality of the California grapes.

REGION
There aren’t many wine regions in the world more diverse than California. The warm days and cool nights are perfect for producing concentrated and expressive grapes over the long growing season. With vineyards on the sea swept Central Coast; the mountainous, jagged terrain of Northern California; and the storied plots of Napa, winemakers can be exacting in choosing the specific climate and terroir they are looking for when making their wines. With nutrient rich soils and scores of different microclimates, California is a gift to ambitious winemakers.

TASTING NOTES
This lush Pinot Noir has classic notes of vibrant red fruits, bing cherry, and finishes with savory herbs, blueberry, and bramble.

Wine Region

California

California is one of the most diverse winegrowing regions in the world. Spanning 850 miles along North America's west coast—and inland across mountains and valleys—California's American Viticultural Areas (AVAs) cover a dizzying array of terroir. The cold, deep waters of the Pacific Ocean play a major role in cooling California's vineyards, sending fog and chilly air up to 100 miles inland. This tempers the daytime heat and allows grapes to ripen slowly but fully. Cooler-climate grape varieties thrive closest to the sea, while further inland, bigger, bolder wines prevail.
