Cabernet Sauvignon

"In a wine competition, where the entries are tasted blind, this gives you pause. Isn’t this what Cabernet Sauvignon is all about, a nobility calm, confident, and assured in its power and grace." - Mike Dunne, 2020 Critics Challenge International Wine & Spirits Competition. We are thrilled to announce that our winemakers have earned us 94 points and a Platinum medal from the 2020 Critics Challenge International Wine & Spirits Competition for not only our Horse Heaven Hills Cabernet Sauvignon, but also our Napa Valley expression of Longitude 120 West. 100 point wines are rare, this young AVA at the bottom of the state of Washington has produced three in the last twenty years. That’s incredible, and we couldn’t be happier to feature a Horse Heaven Hills wine and strive for the same "perfection" as we continue to work with wine from this dynamic AVA in Washington. The vineyards in the area benefit from strong winds that arrive from the west and have been channeled through the Columbia Gorge. With bone dry heat and extended sun exposure, this wine tastes powerful and concentrated. Since it’s made in an Old World style, we would suggest thinking about Old World pairings to accompany the wine. Try it with steak, game meats, and slow-braised stews.

Wine Region

Horse Heaven Hills

Home to multiple 100 point wines, Horse Heaven Hills is nestled in the southeastern corner of Washington and is a hidden jewel amidst the vast landscape of the Pacific Northwest. Primarily known for reds, wines from the region are exciting and vibrant. Vineyards are planted along the banks of the Columbia River and on hillsides ranging from 300 feet to 1800 feet elevation. Despite the proximity to the river, the land is extremely dry. Heavy winds force grapes to work harder for nutrients and as a result, they develop highly concentrated fruit flavors.
