About This Wine

Literaria '42

Sauvignon Blanc

This Sauvignon Blanc’s Chilean origins shine through in this tropical white. 2019 in Valle Central was a dry one, with little rain and plenty of summer heat. The vintners at Literaria ‘42 took advantage of this small, concentrated crop to create a wine with incredible intensity and expression. You’ll pick up vibrant flavors of apricot, passion fruit, guava, and pineapple for a fruit glass with refreshing acidity. Serve with grilled octopus or fried sole and feel transported of the ocean — even if your miles away.

Wine Region

Valle Central

The expansive, warm flatlands of Chile's Valle Central are home to most of the country's vineyards. This long stretch of land from Santiago to Itata Valley is divided into four sub-regions, each with its own climate and reputation. There is Maipo Valley with its minty Cabernet Sauvignon, Rapel Valley with its spicy Carménère and the Curicó and Maule Valleys, famous for concentrated Carignan made from old vines. Throughout the valley—which is prized for its rich, volcanic soils—the hot days and cool nights result in ripe, well-balanced grapes. Some of the most common Valle Central wines are fruit-forward reds made from plummy Merlot and pear-flavored whites crafted from Chardonnay.

Tropical fruit dominates the nose of this wine, but the crisp acidity keeps it from being cloying. Beautifully vibrant, lightly acidic spring and summer white that pairs perfectly with seafood and fish.
