About This Wine

Linguist Estates

Chardonnay

Our Linguist Estates Chardonnay unfolds like a well-written novel. Crisp acidity guides you through smooth textures, ripe citrus, and tasteful spice. In the Central Coast region of California, these grapes bask in the sun's golden glow, ripening to perfection. Brisk coastal breezes sweep over vineyards, allowing the fruit to maintain its natural acidity and aromatics. Our winemaker's elegant use of oak adds another chapter to the wine's journey from vineyard to bottle, shaping its light and creamy profile. The final wine offers poetry in every pour. Enjoy it lightly chilled with your favorite book to unwind after a long day, or bring it to your next brunch with friends as a guaranteed conversation starter. Linguist Estates 2020 Chardonnay Central Coast, California

Wine Region

Central Coast

California's Central Coast might be a bit quieter than Napa or Sonoma to the north, but this lesser-known region produces many world-class wines. Enjoying incredible terroir along its vast 280-mile stretch—from San Francisco Bay to Santa Barbara—Central Coast wines are increasingly in demand. Its position between the Pacific Coast Ranges and the Southern Coast Ranges is key to its quality, with many cool-climate AVAs offering elegant Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Syrah and Merlot. In the hotter parts of the Central Coast, away from the coastal fogs and cold mountain slopes, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre are exceptional.

  • A figure representing the Oak tasting note. Oak

On the nose, aromas of fresh hay and untoasted nutmeg introduce our Chardonnay's subtle, oaky character. The palate is light and smooth, with naturally bright acidity preventing it from becoming too heavy. Lemon meringue notes join hints of hazelnut for a satisfying finish.
