About This Wine

La Arauca

Chardonnay

Our La Arauca Chardonnay captures the spirit of its country and the winemaker’s vision with rich, oak-influenced characteristics and ripe stone fruit notes. Our Chilean winemaking partners are now into their fourth generation of family ownership in the Maule Valley, where they sustainably farmed and harvested this Chardonnay from 12-year-old vines. This wine will ship your senses off to Chile, where you will envision yourself seated at the local café. Savor each sip as you imagine crowded streets filled with locals and vendors, the air buzzing with a vivid sense of pride and cultural identity. When you snap back to reality, this mirage will leave you feeling inspired to turn on the travel network and plan your South American escape. This sense of connection and intrigue represents the heart of La Arauca and is a feeling you will continue to chase as you enjoy glass after glass. La Arauca 2021 Chardonnay Maule Valley DO, Chile

Wine Region

Maule Valley

When it comes to well-balanced reds of great value, Chile's Maule Valley is hard to beat. The southernmost part of Chile's Central Valley, Maule is a large sub-region with many microclimates and soil types. The Maule River and the nearby Pacific Ocean both greatly influence its climate. Maule was one of the first places in Chile planted with grapevines. It is famed today for its 100-year-old Carignan vines and the densely sumptuous wines they produce. More typical, however, are its powerful Cabernet Sauvignon, spicy aromatic Carménère and plush Merlot reds. For whites, check out Maule's cheery Sauvignon Blanc and rounded Chardonnay. Chile’s Denominación de Origen (DO) classification system focuses on separating wines by the physical location of origin. To use the DO classification on a label, a producer must have pulled 85 percent of the fruit used in a wine from a defined regional location. The DO system names wine regions in the country from north to south.

Our Chardonnay showcases aromas of baked brioche and honey, leading to ripe peach flavors on the palate. The wine’s fullness and soft mouthfeel emphasize notes of almond, which contribute to its delectable balance of fruit and oak. Serve lightly chilled paired with Chilean-inspired dishes.
