Pinot Grigio

This Pinot Grigio from KRIS is a blend of fruit from the delle Venezie DOC in Italy. Its flavor profile is full of fresh and floral aromas, with underlying almond notes representative of its region. A portion of this blend comes from vines grown on hillsides in the northern region of Alto Adige. These slopes have a southwest-facing aspect which means the grapes have lots of exposure to sunlight, resulting in the development of their ripe fruity flavor. The other portion is harvested from vines in the neighboring region of Friuli. Here, the fruit benefits from well-drained soils, which results in smaller yields and greater overall complexity.

If you love Italian Pinot Grigio, you have probably enjoyed Trentino-Alto Adige wines. At the northern tip of Italy, this region sweeps down from the Dolomites to Lake Garda through stunning scenery and terroirs. The sun-soaked valley floors radiate warmth up to the vineyard slopes, while cool Alpine air brings drying freshness—perfect conditions for producing quality grapes. Germanic-influenced Alto Adige is all about Pinot Grigio and fine Gewürztraminer, Chardonnay and red Shiava. Further down in Trentino, red grapes like Teroldego grow alongside grapes used in sparkling wines, crisply fragrant Pinot Noir and Chardonnay and exceptional dessert wines.
