About This Wine

Kno'logy

Cabernet Sauvignon-Petit Verdot

Exploration is hardwired into human nature. When maps were filled, we took to exploring the deep oceans and the stars. Intellectually too, we are drawn to experiencing new things‚ read books, watch documentaries, and have conversations. We believe that you can learn incredible things through the lens of wine. With every sip, we are building a reference book. The Kno’logy 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon-Petit Verdot blend is an excellent object of exploration. Coming from the D’Oc region in the south of France where no irrigation is permitted, the vines had very little water in the summer and produced fruits that were highly concentrated to make a wine with a great mix brambly flavors subtly joined by soft red fruits. It’s a wine that we keep coming back to, learning more each time. And it is a hit with the judges—it took home a Silver medal and 89 points at the 2018 New World International Wine Competition and at the 2018 Critics Challenge Wine Competition!

Wine Region

France

While it was not the first country to master winemaking, no other country has determined the course of wine and wine culture as much as France. From the sparkling wines of Champagne to the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay of Burgundy; from Bordeaux's sumptuous blends to Alsace's Riesling; and from the Loire Valley's Sauvignon Blancs to exciting new regions like Pays d'Oc in the south, France has given the world nearly all the major styles and grape varieties that dominate what we drink today. There are numerous reasons why France and wine are so inextricably linked, but perhaps the foremost is geography. Few places can rival France's unique array of hot and cool-climate regions and the abundant maritime influences and mountainous terrain found throughout the country.

Tasting Notes

  • A figure representing the Blackcurrant tasting note. Blackcurrant
  • A figure representing the Oak tasting note. Oak

Try this with a whole host of things. The full body and ripe flavors are perfect for trying with foods. There is a good concentration of brambly flavors supplemented by raspberry and redcurrant. We love the subtle notes of cassis.
