Izak's 177
Chenin Blanc
Our Izak's 177 Chenin Blanc features supple textures, rich tropical fruit flavors and a subtle touch of oak. South Africa is home to over 50 percent of the world's Chenin Blanc vineyards. It is considered a regional specialty and the country's most cultivated grape variety, claiming 18 percent of its vineyards. This French grape was among the first varieties grown in South Africa, arriving with Cape Town's founder, Jan van Riebeeck, in 1655. Nowadays, it prospers in the rugged region of Swartland, where hot, dry summers and diverse soil types showcase its prized versatility.
