About This Wine
Isolde's Rapture
Syrah
Monterey County could be considered the absolute perfect grape growing region in Central California. Broadly a cool climate region thanks to maritime influences and weather coming off the Pacific Ocean, vineyards planted in the area are tough and strong. In environments like this with generally cooler weather and just the right amount of sunshine, grapes are able to slowly ripen which allows them to develop deeply concentrated flavors and a natural acidity. Syrah is a grape that does well in both warm and cool climates, but the cooler weather in Monterey allows a leaner style of the varietal to truly shine. Flavors of dark red fruits and notes of allspice hit the palate and combine with big yet delicately smooth tannins. This wine is incredibly easy-drinking and perfect for pairing with dark red meats roasted, braised, or off the grill.
