About This Wine

Is It Arte?

Vino Tinto

Winemaking is as much a craft as it is an art. The winemaker hones the process over years and years of practice never settling for just okay. Is it Arte? explores the links between graffiti artists and winemakers. Works from Banksy, Mr. Brainwash, Shepard Fairey and more have sold for millions in galleries, moving this previously questionable practice into the mainstream. We think that the Is it Arte? is an underground hero. With fruity and flowery aromatics playing off of a structured mouthfeel and nuanced oak notes this is a wine to step back and take in, like an unexpected painting on a wall. The rich red fruits and complex notes of tobacco, cocoa, and nutmeg play beautifully off of meats like roasted pork or smoked charcuterie, but we also love this with a Spanish style lentil soup. Judges at the 2019 Denver International Wine Competition loved it too and sent it home with a Gold medal!

Wine Region

Spain

While its reputation as a serious wine destination was eclipsed by France and Italy for many years, ignoring Spain today means missing out on some of the world's most exciting wines. Enjoying hundreds of miles of sun-kissed coastline and rocky interiors at higher elevations, Spain provides an ideal location for vineyards. Whether it is sparkling cavas from Catalonia, crisp Verdejos from Rueda, sublime Tempranillos from Ribera del Duero or inky Monastrells from Valencia, Spain has many wine styles to explore, all expressing the country's wildly unique terroir.
