About This Wine

Iron Arrow

Chardonnay

When aiming for a bright and varietally expressive style of Chardonnay, winemakers must take great care to hit the target; it is clear that Gold Medal-winning Iron Arrow was once again up to the challenge. This Burgundian-styled wine is layered with ripe citrus flavors interlaced with thrilling textures. Our Chardonnay comes from some of Washington’s premier family-owned vineyards nestled in the Columbia Valley. While this region is known for high temperatures during the day, cool nights ensure that the Chardonnay grapes do not overripen and lose their natural acidity. This makes for a refreshing wine that skillfully balances fruit flavor and mouthwatering texture. To experience our Chardonnay at its best, serve it well chilled alongside creamy pasta dishes or grilled fish. Scroll through the image carousel above to learn more about this wine.

Wine Region

Columbia Valley

Sheltered by the rain shadow of the Cascade Mountains, Columbia Valley is home to the majority of Washington's vineyards. Cool nights keep zippy acidity in the grapes, while long daylight hours give the fruit plenty of chance to ripen. This results in full-bodied Merlot, elegant Cabernet Sauvignon and deeply concentrated Syrah. White wines are just as tantalizing, with toasty oak-touched Chardonnay and ripe stone fruit-flavored Riesling taking the spotlight. Sub-AVAs to look out for are Yakima Valley and Walla Walla. The Columbia Valley is one of the only appellations in the United States to occupy vineyards in two states, as it crosses the Oregon border in the southern part of the valley.

  • A figure representing the Lime tasting note. Lime

Our wine offers restrained fruit flavors that center around rich minerality and acidity. Citrus zest and almond complement ripe lemon flavors and crisp green apple. A medium-bodied palate offers just the right amount of sweetness to balance out this wine’s primarily zesty characteristics.
