Red Blend

The Columbia Valley in Washington State is the exact opposite of what you’d assume it would be given the reputation of the rainy and cold Pacific Northwest. Tucked into the central part of the state, the region is more desert-like, with a classic continental climate of hot, dry days and cooler evenings. Vines planted in the area see very minimal rainfall during the growing season, which leads to bold and robust flavorful wines like our Bordeaux-style red blend. A combination of 50% Malbec and 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, this award-winning wine received both a Gold Medal and a 92 point score from the 2020 Sommelier Challenge. Sheltered by the rain shadow of the Cascade Mountains, Columbia Valley is home to the majority of Washington's vineyards. Cool nights keep zippy acidity in the grapes, while long daylight hours give the fruit plenty of chance to ripen. This results in full-bodied Merlot, elegant Cabernet Sauvignon and deeply concentrated Syrah. White wines are just as tantalizing, with toasty oak-touched Chardonnay and ripe stone fruit-flavored Riesling taking the spotlight. Sub-AVAs to look out for are Yakima Valley and Walla Walla. The Columbia Valley is one of the only appellations in the United States to occupy vineyards in two states, as it crosses the Oregon border in the southern part of the valley.

Deep in color and full of opulent and plush flavors, our Bordeaux-style blend is stunning. Aromas of baking spices like cinnamon and nutmeg meld with a peppery note and jump out of the glass. Dark fruit flavors of deep red plum and blackberry compote are complemented by soft tannins.
