Red Wine

Varietal: Red Blend
MSRP: $28.00
ABV: 13%
Region: California

Inkscape.’s debut wine, the 2014 Cabernet, wasn’t just award-winning and critically acclaimed (it got a prestigious Editor’s Choice Pick from Food and Wine magazine), but it was one of our member’s top favorite wines of 2016. So, when we came across the 2013 red from this rising star winery, we knew we had to get our hands on as much as we could. Made with small-batch, nutrient-dense 100% Paso Robles fruit, this red has an astonishing depth of flavor rich with notes of ripe black plum and Bing cherries. Barrel aged for over 2 years, this wine was a labor of dedication and the winemakers sacrificed profits to ensure that this wine was perfect straight out of the bottle. However due to the rarity of the grapes and the care put into the aging, they could only make a limited batch, so make sure you get a bottle before it’s gone!

Judges love this wine too: we're excited to announce that the Inkscape. 2013 won a silver medal at the 2017 critics challenge!

REGION:

There’s a reason Paso Robles is the fastest growing wine region in California. Encompassing over 614,000 acres of land, with 32,000 acres of grapevines, the area’s verdant soils, warm days, and cool nights make it one of the best regions in the world for growing bold, nutrient dense grapes. Filled with some of the boldest, most innovative winemakers working today, the region is known for producing distinctively flavorful and incredibly drinkable wines.

TASTING NOTES:

From the second you open the bottle, this fragrant wine will engage your senses with aromas of black cherry, violets, and spice. The palate is rich with ripe fruits of blackberry, soft mocha, and plum. Toasty notes of oak meet flavors of vanilla bean to produce of wine that’s perfect for drinking anytime and goes easily with your favorite BBQ—ribs, chicken, even a rosemary leg of lamb.

Wine Region

California

California is one of the most diverse winegrowing regions in the world. Spanning 850 miles along North America's west coast—and inland across mountains and valleys—California's American Viticultural Areas (AVAs) cover a dizzying array of terroir. The cold, deep waters of the Pacific Ocean play a major role in cooling California's vineyards, sending fog and chilly air up to 100 miles inland. This tempers the daytime heat and allows grapes to ripen slowly but fully. Cooler-climate grape varieties thrive closest to the sea, while further inland, bigger, bolder wines prevail.
