About This Wine

Impress

Petit Verdot

This young Petit Verdot is a wonderful showcase of pure fruit expression and natural liveliness. The Petit Verdot grapes for the Impress benefitted from ample sunshine that allowed them to fully develop the varietal’s aromatic potential while still maintaining the natural tannins in the skins. This left us with a wine that full of deep, dark flavors of blueberry and violets offset by fleshy tannins. This wine shines with meats that are cooked on the rarer side, and the gamey secondary notes especially complement meats like pheasant, venison, or oxtail. Our experts say this is a bold wine made for bold flavors. We are sure that it will impress at your next dinner party. Judges love it too! It took home a Silver medal the 2018 Sommelier Challenge.

Wine Region

California

California is one of the most diverse winegrowing regions in the world. Spanning 850 miles along North America's west coast—and inland across mountains and valleys—California's American Viticultural Areas (AVAs) cover a dizzying array of terroir. The cold, deep waters of the Pacific Ocean play a major role in cooling California's vineyards, sending fog and chilly air up to 100 miles inland. This tempers the daytime heat and allows grapes to ripen slowly but fully. Cooler-climate grape varieties thrive closest to the sea, while further inland, bigger, bolder wines prevail.

  • A figure representing the Oak tasting note. Oak
  • A figure representing the Blueberry tasting note. Blueberry

This youthful wine showcases fruit and liveliness. With strong notes of blueberry and firm tannins, this wine is ideal with food, especially food that has some texture and richness. The firm tannins pair very well with rare to medium rare steaks, or a prime rib.
