Opulent Red

A beautiful representation of a rich and age-worthy Napa Valley Red Blend drawing upon Grenache for fruit and low acidity and Malbec for its inherent tannic structure. A traditional blend of classic Bordeaux varietals which thrive in the dry heat of the Napa Valley. Fruit spent 3 weeks on the skins before being gently pressed and aged in French oak for 18 months. A rich, opulent body is emphasized by dark fruit flavors and spiciness on the back end. Perfect for aging for a few years or for drinking now.

Wine Region

Napa Valley

Napa gained international acclaim following the Judgement of Paris in 1976, when its wines defeated its French counterparts in a blind tasting. Napa's signature wines are Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and various Bordeaux blends, but many other varieties, such as Pinot Noir, Zinfandel, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc also thrive here. With 16 sub-AVAs and a Mediterranean climate with rich geology, Napa is a winemaker's dream. The winegrowing region runs between the Mayacamas Mountains and Vaca Mountains for 30 miles, from Calistoga to Los Carneros. Napa has a wide array of soil types for such a small region, from volcanic foothills to alluvial valley floors, which help to produce varied and complex wines.

Dark red and black fruit flavors of pomegranate and black cherry lead to an underlying spiciness. On the back end, notes of vanilla, hibiscus, and rosemary come forward and give the wine a rich finish.
