About This Wine

Francis Ford Coppola

Sofia Rosé

Sofia Rosé is a beautiful wine, from its shapely, stylized bottle to its delicate fruity essence. When served chilled, its refreshing style makes a delicious partner to light summer evenings. This vintage, Monterey County was free from intense summer heat which would suggest a late harvest. the consistent warmth allowed for some fruit to be ready for harvest in early Summer.

Wine Region

Monterey County

Not to be confused with Monterey AVA, Monterey County is a larger designation that also includes the Carmel and San Antonio valleys, among others. Encompassing three distinct zones at the northern end of the Central Coast, Monterey County produces vast amounts of high-quality Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling and Pinot Gris. For reds, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon have often been replaced by Pinot Noir, Syrah and Grenache in recent years. These cooler-climate grapes achieve greatness through the influence of Monterey Bay, which pushes cold fogs and chilly afternoon winds down the Salinas Valley, tempering the sun's heat and allowing a long, moderate ripening season.

Bright fresh fruit flavors and balance between ripeness and crisp natural acidity. Aromatically intense with notes of wild strawberries, cardamom, and lemon peel, the palate is lively and balanced, presenting succulent flavors of tangerine and a hint of stony minerals.
