About This Wine
Founder's Fortune
Valdiguié
The Solano County region where we sourced this wine is very interesting. It’s the second oldest official AVA in California with a nice maritime climate and cool growing conditions. But the grape used to make this wine is even more interesting. Valdiguié is a red grape that is California’s answer to Gamay. It was even called “Napa Gamay” for a time, but we think it’s altogether more interesting than the light-bodied French varietal. It’s vibrant and has pops of expressive fruit flavors that leave us wanting more with each sip. At its core, this is a refreshing wine that hearkens back to “old napa” winemaking and we can’t wait for you to try it. Judges love it too! It took home a Silver medal from the 2020 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition and at the 2019 Harvest Challenge.

This wine varietal is also sometimes called "Napa Gamay" because it is fresh and vibrant and easy to drink. We like it as much on its own as we do with food. It has a medium body with soft and friendly spice notes that pair beautifully with roasted pork, tomato sauces, and ratatouille.
