About This Wine

Fiamma Stregata

Montepulciano

This exceptional wine is part of our Fine Wine Collection.

Winemaking Winemakers harvested the Montepulciano grapes at peak ripeness to capture bold fruit character while preserving natural acidity and freshness. Fermentation unfolded in stainless steel or concrete tanks at carefully controlled temperatures, with moderate maceration to extract soft tannins, deep color, and savory complexity without overwhelming rusticity. The wine then rested in large neutral oak casks for up to a year, allowing it to soften gracefully and develop subtle earthy undertones while keeping the vibrant fruit front and center.

Vintage The 2024 growing season in Abruzzo unfolded calmly, with consistent weather and a smooth shift from summer to fall allowing Montepulciano to ripen unhurried. Moderate yields throughout the year concentrated fruit character and preserved the variety’s freshness. Harvest arrived in a cool, stable early autumn, enabling precise picking at peak maturity. In the cellar, the 2024 fruit inspired cool fermentations and gentle aging in neutral oak to protect the vintage’s clarity and natural balance.

Pairing Logic With its dark fruit depth and earthy nuance, this Montepulciano complements robust dishes like wild boar ragu, herb-crusted pork loin, or roasted eggplant with oregano. The wine’s structured tannins and dried herb notes resonate beautifully with Mediterranean flavors, from grilled vegetables to lentil stews. Add a finishing touch of aged cheese or a drizzle of olive tapenade to highlight its savory core.

Wine Region

Montepulciano

Montepulciano

Nestled between Italy's Adriatic coast and its rugged mountain slopes, the Abruzzo region offers the perfect warm climate and cool night temperatures for viticulture. While the region produces crisp whites like Trebbiano d'Abruzzo, it is celebrated worldwide for its premier red grape: Montepulciano. When grown in these ideal coastal and mountainous conditions, it yields the prestigious Montepulciano d'Abruzzo—a deliciously food-friendly, easygoing wine known for its deep ruby color, soft tannins, plummy-cherry juiciness, and subtly smoky finish that truly defines the identity of Abruzzo winemaking.
