About This Wine
Dutchman's Pipe
North Coast Red
The North Coast appellation in California is idyllic for grape growing. The region experiences a classic diurnal shift in temperature – temperatures near the 100's during hot and sunny days quickly dip often below the 50's after the sun goes down. Thanks to heavy influences of fog and cool winds from the nearby Pacific Ocean, fruit thrives in the environment. The region boasts a combination of valley floors and high-altitude plantings, making it incredibly unique and creating multiple different flavor profiles amongst the wines produced in the area. This wine is a beautiful blend of 50% Merlot, 25% Syrah, and 25% of a combination of Zinfandel and Petite Sirah. It is full-bodied with intense fruit flavors and deep in color. Sweet aromatics and florals hit the nose while flavors of dark fruits meld with more savory notes. Amazing to pair with anything off the grill, this wine would be a perfect match for fall al fresco dining with friends.
