About This Wine

Dusquemere

Cabernet Sauvignon

This exceptional wine is part of our Fine Wine Collection.

Winemaking Winemakers shape Dusquemere 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon with a focus on purity and power, honoring Napa’s classic style. Fermentation is tailored to extract deep color and textured tannins, while gentle handling preserves vibrant blackcurrant and blackberry fruit. Extended maceration and oak aging coax out layers of cigar box, espresso, and savory dark chocolate. Each decision is guided by the goal of authenticity—producing a bold, structured wine that will gain further complexity and grace with time.

Vintage The 2023 vintage in Napa Valley delivered structure and depth from a season of long, even ripening. A dry winter and temperate spring enabled steady vine development, setting the stage for a balanced, concentrated harvest. Warm days and cool nights preserved fruit integrity while promoting the region’s signature earthy character. This year favored bold expression and age-worthy complexity, shaped by the terroir’s unmistakable imprint.

Pairing Logic This bold, terroir-driven Cabernet Sauvignon pairs with richly flavored dishes like grilled ribeye, braised short ribs, or mushroom risotto with truffle oil. Its dark fruit core, earthy undertones, and cigar-box complexity shine alongside roasted root vegetables, aged cheeses, and charred meats seasoned with rosemary, thyme, or smoked paprika. The wine’s powerful structure and savory depth suit dry-aged steaks, rosemary lamb chops, or wild mushroom ragù.

Wine Region

Napa Valley

Napa gained international acclaim following the Judgement of Paris in 1976, when its wines defeated its French counterparts in a blind tasting. Napa's signature wines are Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and various Bordeaux blends, but many other varieties, such as Pinot Noir, Zinfandel, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc also thrive here. With 16 sub-AVAs and a Mediterranean climate with rich geology, Napa is a winemaker's dream. The winegrowing region runs between the Mayacamas Mountains and Vaca Mountains for 30 miles, from Calistoga to Los Carneros. Napa has a wide array of soil types for such a small region, from volcanic foothills to alluvial valley floors, which help to produce varied and complex wines.
